Subscription Box Deals & Coupon Codes!

There are a few really great deals on subscription boxes right now!

PopSugar Must Have (a personal favorite!) has released this code for $15 off a box: XL25K3Z. If you only want one box, be sure to check the box that says ‘this is a gift’ and your subscription won’t renew. The discount makes this box $25!! If you want a shot at getting the May box, check the box that says send me an earlier box if available. If you want the June Must Have box, make sure the check box is empty. Sign up for PopSugar Must Have here.

This Month's Box

Birchbox currently has a code to get your first box for only $5! That’s 50% off!! I never see coupons for Birchbox subscriptions, so I don’t know if this one will be back again. Birchbox makes a GREAT gift. The code is SUMMERSUB. Sign up for Birchbox here.

Plus Box Subscription from Conscious Box

Conscious Box is currently available on RueLaLa. A 3-month subscription is $35 and a 6-month subscription is $65. According to RueLaLa, a 3-month sub is usually $56.85 and a 6-month is $107.70. I got really frustrated with Conscious Box last year because the boxes weren’t great, but my mom’s been getting pretty good boxes lately. It might be worth giving Conscious Box another shot! Will you be taking advantage of any of these deals? If so, which ones? Let me know in the comments!

October SockPanda Review

SockPanda is a sock subscription box specializing in cute, crazy socks to make you smile every time you wear them! The price is $11 per month per pair of socks. The choices are women’s cool, women’s bold, men’s cool, and men’s bold. This is my third month of SockPanda, and I love this pair!!

I like that they’re unique and unlike any socks I have. I also appreciate that there’s some thought behind the design–they’re part of the Nobel Prize series. I wasn’t expecting to learn anything when I opened my SockPanda package. It was a pleasant surprise!

20131106-223709.jpgWhile I really do like SockPanda, I’m canceling because I can’t afford to spend $11 on one pair of socks per month. I like this subscription for a gift idea, though! If you love fun socks, check out SockPanda!

August 2013 Wantable Box Reviews (2!)

I found out about Wantable in August and immediately ordered a box. Wantable is different from other subscriptions in that you take an in-depth quiz to determine the type of products you’ll receive. You choose Love, Like, or Dislike on various categories. You will NEVER receive products you marked Dislike. For the categories you chose like or love, you’ll receive more specific questions to further personalize your box. I loved my first Wantable box and ordered a second for the month (hoping for a specific brand). I ended up returning the second box because it was too similar to many products I already own. Here’s the breakdown of those two boxes!

CALA Lip Brush – This brush works great! I replaced my E.L.F. one with this CALA brush and am satisfied with the results.

Whip Hand Cosmetics Lip Hit – LOVE LOVE LOVE this product. It has a flexible paddle applicator, and the product goes on super smooth. I think I’ll be purchasing this product at some point!

Besame Cosmetics Lip & Cheek Rouge – *FAVORITE PRODUCT IN THE BOX!* I fell in love with this product when I saw the packaging, then again when I opened it! It’s a smooth, pigmented lip and cheek tint reminiscent of vintage makeup! It can get a little hard to blend, but I think it’s a product you learn with as you go. This product is basically the reason I ordered a second box. I noticed some people got Besame lipsticks, so I was hoping for one. I recently ordered some Besame products and will be reviewing them soon after they arrive.

FACE Stockholm Lipstick – This is pretty, but a little dark on my skin tone. My sister is darker than me and loved it, so I may be gifting it to her at some point. I like the sleek packaging and product quality, just not my color!

michael marcus brow pencil – I don’t have strong feelings about this product. The cap has bristles on it and the instructions say color the brush, then use it to fill in brows. That didn’t really work for me. I may use the pencil directly on my brows or give it to someone.

echovie organic body oil – I’m always excited to see an organic product! This is a pretty good sized sample. The bottle was full, and it came in a cute little bag. I’ll use this product up!

My rating for my first August Wantable Box: B+

I liked the second box, I just realized I should return it because I have similar colors of all the products. I love that Wantable allows you to return a box if you don’t like it! Here are the pictures:

The Frownies Eye Gels were a free sample. I really liked the CALA brush and Whip Hand Lip Hit (almost kept the box just for the lip gloss!). The FACE Stockholm bronzer was much too dark for my pale face. The other two lip products were nice, but I didn’t really have a need for them.

Wantable is a great new service! They have three subscriptions available: Makeup, Accessories, and Intimates. They also have a Limited Edition Halloween Makeup Box right now. A single box is $40, or you can sign up for a subscription and pay $36/box. (If you decide to subscribe, go through eBates to get 10% cash back!) You can also skip whenever you want, and you can retake the quiz as often as you’d like. So if you need eye products one month and lip products the next, it’s no big deal! I have another Wantable review coming up if you want to see more before you decide whether to purchase. They have a different curator each month. I’m loving Wantable, and I think you will, too!

October 2013 Birchbox Review

My Birchbox arrived today, and I couldn’t be happier with the contents! This month’s theme is Beauty Buzz. First look:

20131009-190149.jpg
I instantly perked up when I saw a bright Tiffany-ish blue box next to a Benefit product! The first thing I took out of the box and examined was POP Beauty Aqua Lacquer in Flowering Fuchsia. POP Beauty seems to be showing up in lots of boxes lately!

20131009-190509.jpg
Here’s the product swatched on my hand (no flash, indoor light). I was surprised to find this tube of lip gloss has an applicator wand! It’s paddle-style is similar to the Whip Hand Cosmetics’ Lip Hit applicators.

20131009-190731.jpg
The product went on a little thick at first, but it wouldn’t take long to get used to applying. It felt smooth and wasn’t sticky. There’s a slight tingle and a minty-ish scent. I think this is the full size, which is $14.

Birchbox info: A British makeup pro created this sheer gloss, which plumps and hydrates with jojoba oil. The cute paddle-style applicator makes for precise lines.

I couldn’t keep from grabbing the Benefit box any longer! Benefit Fake Up concealer is loved by many, and I can’t wait to try it. I’m really glad Birchbox sent me the right shade! I received 01 Light, which is the best shot at working with my super paleness. It’s a pretty good sized sample. The full size is $24.

20131009-191406.jpg Birchbox info: Brighten tired-looking eyes with this hydrating under eye concealer and moisturizer combo. Gently swipe under each eye and use your ring finger to blend.

The next product was a Birchbox Find. It doesn’t count as a regular sample, it’s just a bonus! This item was revealed in the sneak peek video this month.

20131009-191740.jpg
It’s Chapstick Hydration Lock in Vanilla Creme. I’m a sucker for vanilla, so I’m happy with this bonus product! It also came with a $1 off coupon. I love me some coupons. It appears to be completely sheer and can be used as a lip primer. Here’s a shot of the product.

20131009-191944.jpg (That’s Julep’s Christina on my nails. The color is actually a deep red-orange with microglitter shimmer! I know it’s time to repaint them, I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. I only used one coat over Ulta base coat and it didn’t chip for a week!)

I saved the beautiful box for last. Inside, I found Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser and Pure Muslin Cloth. I’m really excited to use this product! I hope it’s not too much for my sensitive skin to take.

20131009-192248.jpg How cute is it that they print on the inside of the box lid? Loving this company already.

20131009-192408.jpg I like that they included a small instruction booklet. The full size cleanser is $21.50 and 2 cloths are $6.

Birchbox info on cleanser: UK favorite that uses a two-step ritual to purify and exfoliate. A Birchbox exclusive! Massage into skin. With muslin cloth, wipe off gently in small circles, from the center out.

Birchbox info on cloth: Ditch your harsh exfoliation and use this pure muslin cloth, which gently polishes skin. Rinse with warm water and wipe off cleanser. Hang to dry.

My rating for the October Birchbox: A

Am I happy with my October Birchbox? Absolutely!! I can’t wait to use all of these products. Birchbox has blown me away three months in a row! It only costs $10/month. If you want to subscribe, click through any of my referral links in this post.
